This easy week-night sheet pan meal features sausage, sweet potatoes, and asparagus roasted to perfection and finished with a simple orange dressing.
Using my sheet pan to get dinner on the table with relative ease has become one of my go-to cooking methods lately.
Many recipes for sheet pan meals rely on staggering the introduction of ingredients so each ingredient is cooked perfectly like my Sheet Pan Shrimp Boil and Sheet Pan Steak and Potato recipes.
For this recipe, all of the ingredients are cut to about the same size and roasted at the same time making it quick and easy to get on the table even on the busiest of week nights.

What Kind Of Sausage Should I Use?
It’s important to use a pre-cooked sausage for this dinner. But the flavor and type I’ll leave completely up to you! Chicken, turkey, or pork all work great. Just remember that a simple orange dressing will be added after cooking so you may not want something that has distinct, highly flavorful ingredients like jalapeños or blue cheese.

Prepping Ingredients For Your Sheet Pan Sausage Dinner
The most important part of this recipe is to make sure that all of the ingredients are cut to about the same size since they are all going into the oven at the same time.
Cutting the sweet potatoes into a 1-inch cube allows the potatoes to cook through and get a nice crispy, brown crust on the exterior. Since the sausage has been pre-cooked, the goal is to warm them through and get nice bits of browning on outside. A 1/2-inch slice works perfectly in this dish. The asparagus being a bit less dense than the sweet potatoes and sausage is cut into 2-inch long pieces.
Mix the sausage, sweet potatoes, and asparagus in a large mixing bowl along with olive oil and salt, and pepper before transferring to the sheet pan.
How To Make Sheet Pan Sausage Dinner
Now that all of your ingredients are cut to the proper size and drizzled with oil and seasoned, they can be arranged on a half-sized rimmed baking sheet in a single layer.
The sheet pan goes into a 425ËšF pre-heated oven. Cooking time is about 25 – 30 minutes. You want the veggies to be fork-tender with some nice browning and the sausage to be heated through with bits of browning.
Remove the pan from the oven and allow it to rest for about 5 minutes. The last step to this sheet pan meal is to dress it with the orange dressing and toss it to coat. Do make sure that you allow the ingredients, and most importantly the pan, to cool a bit to avoid any splattering and sputtering of the dressing.
A nice fresh salad rounds out this meal perfectly.
