Hi! I’m Christine Pittman and I’m so happy that you’re here visiting COOKtheSTORY!
There are a lot of tasty recipes on this site. If you want to learn more about me and COOKtheSTORY, scroll on down. If you’d like to get started browsing recipes and becoming part of our delicious community, head over here instead. Oh, and if you’re a member of the media and want to schedule an interview or see my press work, that’s this way.
I’m a single mom to two amazing kids and two rambunctious cats. I’m originally from Canada, but I’ve been living in Florida for 15 years. I love to cook, to travel and eat in restaurants wherever I go, and I also love touring food production facilities and getting to see the behind-the-scenes of how things are made. I’ve been hiking in over 20 national parks with my boyfriend and fellow-park-enthusiast, Marty, and, in my free time, I listen to podcasts while doing paint-by-numbers.
My Cooking History
I started learning to cook when I was really young, watching my mom and my Ukrainian Baba in the kitchen, and then working alongside my parents in their restaurants.
My love for recipe creation grew as I helped my mom test recipes for the restaurants. We’d test things over and over to get them just right. She always said that she wouldn’t serve anything that she didn’t love to eat, and that’s how I feel about the recipes I share here on COOKtheSTORY – if I don’t really and truly love them, they don’t belong here!

About My Business
I started COOKtheSTORY in 2010 while I was on maternity leave, shortly after moving to Florida. It was a way for me to stay in touch with family and friends back home by sharing what I was cooking for my family.
It’s crazy to me that my little hobby website has become so popular that it now has over a million readers every month. Thank you so much for being one of them!
Over the years, my business has grown into a full culinary media company. I have a full-time team of three talented and inspiring women helping me to bring delicious recipes to my fans on a whole bunch of different mediums.
In addition to COOKtheSTORY, I also own TheCookful, which features cookbook authors and chefs who dive into their favorite cooking topics to share their knowledge with over 700,000 visitors each month. I’ve written over 40 cookbooks, including The All New Chicken Cookbook, and created two podcasts, the popular Recipe of the Day show, which airs 7 days a week, and Time Management Insider, for busy people who love to cook. I’m also all over social media and I share cooking videos on youtube too!

Sharing About Cooking
I’ve also had the opportunity to be on TV talking about food, and I’ve had recipes and cooking tips featured in Good Morning America, Washington Post, Woman’s Day, Real Simple, INSIDER, POPSUGAR, HuffPost, and SELF, to name a few. I really enjoy getting the chance to help people become better cooks, whether that’s on my websites, in books, in podcasts, or in the press.
More Places To Find Me
If you keep scrolling down, you’ll find some of my podcast episodes to listen to. I am so in love with my daily podcast Recipe of the Day. Each episode is really short and explains how to make a single recipe, with tips and tricks along the way.
Down below, you’ll also find some youtube videos that I’ve made, demonstrating how some of my favorite dishes are prepared.
If you’d like to ask me a question or connect with me, the two best things to do are to follow me, @cookthestory, on Instagram, and to join my Recipe of the Day Facebook Group. It’s a new group but it’s turning into a fun and vibrant community of cooking lovers!
