DESCRIPTION

This Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich may just become your new favorite! Crispy chicken, hot honey butter, along with cheese and your favorite fixings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unseasoned panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 and 1/4 tsp. salt, divided
  • 1 and 1/4 tsp. smoked paprika, divided
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 3 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1 egg
  • 4 chicken cutlets
  • 6 Tbsp. butter, softened
  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices Havarti cheese
  • 1/4 head iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 3/4 cup dill pickle chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a pie plate or wide shallow bowl mix together panko, onion powder, 1 teaspoon of the salt, 1 teaspoon of the smoked paprika, garlic powder, and oil for a minute or two until all crumbs are coated in oil.
  3. In another pie plate or shallow bowl use a fork to gently beat the egg.
  4. Add chicken cutlets to the egg and turn to coat.
  5. Transfer chicken to panko mixture and turn to coat, pressing down on chicken gently to help crumbs adhere.
  6. Transfer chicken to prepared pan. Place pan in oven. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until chicken registers 165°F on an instant-read thermometer.
  7. Meanwhile, in a small bowl mix together butter, honey, cayenne, remaining ¼ teaspoon of salt, and remaining ¼ teaspoon of smoked paprika.
  8. Remove chicken from oven. Immediately slather about 1 and ½ tablespoon of the butter mixture over each chicken cutlet.
  9. Place 1 slice of cheese on bottom half of 1 bun. Place chicken cutlet on top of cheese. Top with pickles, lettuce, and top of bun. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
