  • 3 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 6 Tbsp. (¾ stick) unsalted butter, divided
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 and ½ pounds large raw shrimp (30 to 40 per pound, peeled, deveined, and with the tail removed)
  • cup dry white wine
  • ¾ tsp. salt, or more to taste
  • ¼ tsp. red pepper flakes, or more to taste
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
  • Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

  1. Heat the oil and 3 tablespoons of the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. When the butter has melted, add the garlic and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds.
  3. Add the shrimp and cook, stirring occasionally, until just cooked through, about 3 minutes.
  4. Add the wine, salt, and red pepper flakes and stir until the wine comes to a boil.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter. Stir in the parsley and additional salt to taste.
  6. Serve with the lemon wedges, if using, on the side.
