Triple Berry Banana Boats

Banana Boats are a simple baked or grilled dessert that are loved by both kids and grown ups alike. This version is loaded with berries to add extra healthiness to all that gooey tastiness.

Triple Berry Banana Boats

We started making banana boats as an easy grilled dessert even before we had kids. We loved loading them up with peanut butter, caramel sauce and marshmallows, putting them on the grill, and waiting for them to get ooey gooey delicious.

We served banana boats like these as dessert at many gatherings. Sometimes I would pre-make them, refrigerate and then grill when it was time for dessert. Other times we let our friends in on the banana-boat-building adventure by putting out a bunch of toppings and bananas for everyone to stuff to their heart’s content.

As you might have guessed, these banana boats have become even more popular in our house since we had kids. They make such a perfect healthy dessert. Our kids love them and us grown-ups love that they’re eating them. And we love eating them too.

This version is baked so you can make it any time of year. If you would prefer to grill them, the method is exactly the same. You wrap them in foil and then put them over indirect heat on your grill until soft and gooey inside.

What a cool idea! Not only does it look great to kids but also, maybe even unknown to them, it’s also healthy! What a great snack! Thanks for the info!

I never had these as a kid. Discovered them when grilling all the time in Toronto. My kids will grow up with them though!
