Puffed Wheat Nutella Bars

These super easy nutella bars are made with puffed wheat for a bit of health. Cut them into bars or cut them with cookie cutters for fun shapes.

I love love love Nutella. I remember the first time I tried it. I was on the monkey bars and a friend offered me a bite of her “Chocolate Sandwich”. Oh that chocolate smooshing out from between that squishy white bread.

Unfortunately, my mom wouldn’t buy Nutella for us to make into sandwiches. Just  not a healthy choice. And I don’t make chocolate sandwiches for my kids (or for myself *sigh*) either. But every now and then, I get a tub and make a tasty nutella treat for us all to enjoy.

These puffed wheat Nutella bars come together really quickly. In seconds, really. You can cut them into bars or you can use cookie cutters to make shapes like the hearts in the picture. It’s a bit tough to push the cookie cutter through but worth it to see your kids’ smiles (not to mention that you get to snack on all the discarded edges. Mmm….Nutella heaven!).

And now, here’s my deliciously easy and tasty Puffed Wheat Nutella Bars Recipe:

Puffed Wheat Nutella Bars

These puffed wheat nutella treats come together really really quickly. Even quicker than rice crispy squares. And they only use 3 ingredients! You can either cut them into bars or use cookie cutters to make fun shapes.


  • 1/2 cup nutella
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 4 cups puffed wheat


  1. Grease an 8x8 inch cake pan.
  2. In a large pot over low heat mix the nutella and honey until they are well-combined and pull up a bit like taffy, about 30 seconds. Add the puffed wheat and stir to combine. Remove from heat.
  3. Transfer to the pan. Use moistened fingers to push the puffed wheat mixture down evenly. Refrigerate for 30 minutes before cutting into 16 squares or using cooking cutters to cut it into fun shapes. If you refrigerate for longer, they become a bit harder to cut.
  4. After cutting, refrigerate until serving.
