There’s no doubt about it, the Instant Pot has completely revolutionized the way I cook! 

As I’ve said in the past, I didn’t know what to think when this new appliance burst onto the scene. I considered it to be just another kitchen fad and got one to see for myself. 

Oh boy, was I ever wrong! 

This little appliance has completely reshaped my kitchen, helping me to prepare meals that range from super-advanced to some super-simple everyday kitchen tasks like hard boiling an egg. 

That’s why I wanted to take a minute today to point out some of my very favorite Instant Pot recipes here on COOKtheSTORY.

What’s the Best Way to Make Pot Roast in an Instant Pot?

Who doesn’t love Pot Roast? It’s a staple of the American dinner table, and for good reason. 

The Instant Pot has revolutionized the way that I look at pot roast, and with this Instant Pot pot roast recipe, I’m sure your mind will also be blown. 

Just follow these simple steps: 

  1. Season the meat with salt and pepper. Cover every side with it. 
  2. Add oil to your Instant Pot and put it in Saute mode. 
  3. Add the roast to the pot and brown it in the oil on all sides. 
  4. Transfer the roast to a clean plate and add onion and garlic to the Instant Pot. Saute those for three to four minutes. 
  5. Add red wine and deglaze the pot. Make sure you scrape it clean. 
  6. Now, add beef broth and tomato paste with Worcestershire sauce, rosemary, and thyme. Stir to combine and then add the beef back in. 
  7. Close the lid and make sure the valve is in sealing position. 
  8. Pressure cook on high for a full 60 minutes. 
  9. Do a natural release for 10 minutes, then finish off with a quick release until the pin drops. 
  10. Open the lid and transfer your meat to a cutting board where it is ready to be carved up and served. 

What’s a Good Instant Pot Shrimp Recipe?

Shrimp is one of my favorite things to prepare in an Instant Pot. And we’ve got the perfect Instant Pot shrimp recipe for you

Instant Pot Shrimp

Follow these simple steps and cook shrimp in an all new way! 

  1. Stir together a combination of shrimp, butter, broth or water, garlic, salt, and red pepper flakes inside the Instant Pot. 
  2. Lock the lid on and make sure that the valve is set to sealing mode. 
  3. Pressure cook on high pressure for just one minute. 
  4. Do a quick release when time is up. 
  5. Once the pin drops, remove the lid and use a slotted spoon to transfer your shrimp to a plate. 

Can You Make Pork Chops in an Instant Pot?

Instant Pot Pork Chops are quick, easy, and super delicious.

You can create perfectly cooked and tender pork chops by following a few simple directions. 

They are: 

  1. Before anything, season your pork chops all over with salt and pepper. 
  2. Press the Saute button on your Instant Pot and add olive oil. 
  3. Place the seasoned pork in the oil and sear both sides. Make sure that they’re not overlapping in there. Cook for about three minutes on both sides. 
  4. Remove the pork chops from the pot and set them aside. 
  5. Add broth or water to the pot and scrape any stray pork bits from the bottom. 
  6. Place the trivet inside the pot and lay the pork chops on top. It’s not a big deal if they overlap now. 
  7. Lock the lid and make sure that the valve is set to the sealing position. 
  8. Pressure cook on high for five minutes. 
  9. Do a natural release for another five minutes and then finish up with a quick release until the pin drops. 
  10. Now you’re ready to serve! 

How Can You Make Ribs In An Instant Pot?

It’s more than possible to make ribs in your Instant Pot. Chances are they will be some of the tenderest, fall off the bone-iest ribs you’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting. 

How can you prepare some Instant Pot ribs? 

By following these steps: 

  1. Rinse off the ribs and then pat them dry with a paper towel. Make sure to remove the membrane from the bone side of the ribs. 
  2. Mix together brown sugar, salt, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, and pepper in a bowl. 
  3. Sprinkle the spice mix all over the ribs. 
  4. Place the trivet in the pot and pour apple cider vinegar inside. 
  5. Roll your ribs into the shape of a C and place them on the trivet with the cut side down. 
  6. Close and lock the lid. Make sure that the valve is set to the sealing position.
  7. Pressure cook on high for 22 minutes. For enhanced tenderness, do 28 minutes. 
  8. Allow for a five minute natural release and then finish off with a quick release until the pin drops. 
  9. Open the lid and transfer your ribs to a baking sheet. Brush it with your favorite sauce and broil in the oven for three to four minutes. 

Can You Use the Instant Pot as a Rice Cooker?

The Instant Pot makes a perfect rice cooker. You can make many different kinds of rice in your Instant Pot. 

Just follow these simple directions. 

Jasmine Rice

  1. Rinse the rice until the water runs clean.
  2. Place the rice in the Instant Pot along with water, salt, and oil. Stir it together.
  3. Close and lock the lid, ensuring that you’re in sealing position. 
  4. Pressure cook on high for three minutes.
  5. Do a natural release for 10 minutes and then finish with a quick release until the pin drops. 
  6. Unlock the lid and fluff the rice with a fork. 

Brown Rice

  1. Place the rice in the Instant Pot along with water and stir, ensuring that the water covers all of the rice. 
  2. Close and lock the lid, make sure that the valve is in sealing position. 
  3. Pressure cook on high for 15 minutes. 
  4. Do a natural release for five minutes, then finish with a quick release until the pin drops. 
  5. Open the lid and fluff the rice with a fork.

Wild Rice

  1. Place the rice in the Instant Pot with water, oil, and salt. Stir. 
  2. Close and lock the lid, ensuring that the valve is in sealing position.
  3. Pressure cook on high for 15 minutes.
  4. Allow a 10 minute natural release and then finish with a quick release. 
  5. Once the pin has dropped, unlock the lid.
  6. Drain excess liquid and fluff the rice with a fork.

Sticky Rice

  1. Pour one cup of water into the Instant Pot.
  2. Put the trivet in the pot and place a heat proof container on it. 
  3. Place the rice and remaining water in the bowl and stir. 
  4. Close and lock the lid, ensuring that the valve is in sealing position.
  5. Pressure cook for 12 minutes.
  6. Do a seven minute natural release, then finish with a quick release. 
  7. Unlock the lid and open carefully. 
  8. Serve the sticky rice hot. 

Can You Make Risotto in the Instant Pot?

Risotto is amazing in the Instant Pot, and we’ve got a fool proof method for you to follow. 

Take the following steps and enjoy:

  1. Select Saute on your Instant Pot. Add butter until it melts. Saute onion in there for two minutes.
  2. Add garlic and saute for another minute. 
  3. Add rice and stir until the grains are coated with butter. Cook for two minutes. 
  4. Press Cancel and add wine to deglaze the pot. 
  5. Add broth and thyme. 
  6. Close the lid and ensure the valve is in sealing position. 
  7. Pressure cook on high for five minutes. 
  8. Do a quick release until the pin drops. 
  9. Remove the inner pot to prevent over cooking. 
  10. Stir in Parmesan cheese, season with salt and pepper. 

Are Mashed Potatoes Good in the Instant Pot?

Mashed potatoes aren’t just good in the Instant Pot, they’re great. 

Don’t believe us? Try out this Instant Pot mashed potatoes recipe for yourself! 

Here are the directions to potato heaven! 

  1. Add water to the Instant Pot. Place the wire rack in the bottom. 
  2. Wash potatoes and place them on the rack. Make sure they’re uncut and the skin isn’t pierced.
  3. Lock the lid on and make sure the valve is turned to Sealing. 
  4. Pressure cook on high for 20 minutes. 
  5. Do a quick release until the pin drops. 
  6. Remove the lid and transfer the potatoes to the bowl of a standing mixer. Whip them in their whole state.
  7. Add butter, milk, and salt and whip until they’re creamy. 

What’s the Best Instant Pot Pulled Chicken Recipe?

You can make the best pulled chicken in your Instant Pot. 

Using this Instant Pot pulled chicken recipe, you’ll make some tender chicken that will practically fall apart at first touch. 

Just take these steps: 

  1. Season some chicken thighs with salt, garlic powder, and pepper. 
  2. Place the trivet in the inner pot. Add water. 
  3. Place the chicken on the trivet.
  4. Close and lock the lid, making sure that the valve is set to sealing position. 
  5. Pressure cook on high for 13 minutes. 
  6. Do a quick release until the pin drops. 
  7. Remove the chicken and shred it (easily) with two forks. 

Can You Make Pork Tenderloin in an Instant Pot?

We have an amazing Instant Pot Pork Tenderloin recipe that comes with a garlic herb rub. It’s one of my absolutely favorites! 

It can be your favorite too if you follow these instructions. 

  1. Mix garlic, salt, parsley, rosemary, thyme, and pepper together in a small bowl. 
  2. Rub olive oil on the tenderloin and season it with that garlic mixture. Cover all sides. 
  3. Add oil to your Instant Pot and select Saute.
  4. Once it is hot, add the tenderloin and brown it on all sides. This will take about two minutes per side. Once that’s done, transfer it to a clean plate. 
  5. Add broth and deglaze the bottom of the pot. Place the tenderloin back in. 
  6. Close the lid and make sure it’s in sealing position. 
  7. Pressure cook on high for just one minute. 
  8. Do a natural release for 15 minutes and then do a quick release until the pin drops. 
  9. Remove the tenderloin and place it on a cutting board. Let it sit for five minutes. 
  10. Slice and serve.

How Can You Make the Perfect Pork Roast In an Instant Pot?

Perfect pork roast is possible when using an Instant Pot. 

Our Instant Pot pork roast recipe can’t be beat. 

Just follow these directions and pork perfection is within reach. 

  1. Combine salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a bowl and stir them up. 
  2. Rub the pork roast with one tablespoon of olive oil. Then, season it with the salt mixture all over. 
  3. Turn your Instant Pot to Saute mode and add oil. 
  4. Add the pork roast to the pot and sear it on all sides. You’re looking at about four minutes per side to do this right. 
  5. Press cancel and remove the pork. Set it aside. 
  6. Add broth or water to the Instant Pot and scrape any stray bits off the bottom. 
  7. Place the trivet in the pot and put the pork on it. 
  8. Cover the pot and make sure that the valve is in Sealing mode. 
  9. Pressure cook on high for 17 minutes. 
  10. Do a five minute natural release before allowing for a quick release until the pin drops. 
  11. Remove the pork loin and transfer it to a cutting board. 
  12. Saute the juices until they’re boiling. This takes between five and seven minutes. 
  13. Carve the pork and serve with the pan juices.
