Earl Grey Chocolate Smoothie

A few months ago my husband started doing Crossfit. He’s become a convert to this intensive gym-based exercise. I’m also converted to believing that it works since the results are pretty obvious. You would not believe how fit and toned he is. I’m really proud of him.

One of the other things he’s done as part of his new fitness program is to increase his protein intake via protein powder. So when my friends at Stonyfield offered me some yogurt and a tub of The Healthy Scoop Plant-Based Protein Powder I thought it would be fun for me to try it out as well.

I decided to use the protein powder to get in that extra blast of protein along with my morning blast of caffeine. I used the chocolate powder mixed with some strong earl grey tea, Stonyfield yogurt and half of a banana.

It’s got a nice creamy flavor, not very sweet. A bit of honey can be added if you want it sweeter. Tasty and healthy. A great start to the day.

I’m definitely glad I gave The Healthy Scoop protein powder a try. Now, do I have the guts to join my husband and try Crossfit?

Earl Grey Chocolate Protein Smoothie

  • 2 earl grey tea bags
  • 1/3 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup plain Stonyfield yogurt
  • 2 scoops (1/3 cup) The Healthy Scoop Chocolate Protein Powder
  • 1/2 of a banana
  • 1 Tbsp. honey (optional)

  1. Put tea bags in a mug with the boiling water. Allow to steep for 5 minutes. Squeeze all liquid out of tea bags and into mug. Discard tea bags.
  2. Put tea and remaining ingredients in a blender. Puree until smooth and mixed.
Disclosure: I’m a Brand Ambassador for Stonyfield meaning that they pay me to promote their delicious products. They also arranged to have a tub of The Healthy Scoop sent to me to try. All opinions are my own.
