Corn Salad Recipe Reshoot
New pictures of an old favorite recipe today. The comparison is crazy. But no matter how you look at it, this corn salad is delicious!
There’s this old recipe on my blog for Corn Salad. I hadn’t made it in awhile when the urge struck me the other night. One little bite was all it took to remind me how freaking addictive the stuff is. It’s sweet from the corn, spicy from the jalapenos and creamy from a dressing of cream cheese and melted butter. Soooo good. I’ve made 2 batches since then.
While getting the recipe from my site, I noticed that the picture wasn’t all it could be. It was taken back in June of 2011. I’d been blogging for about 6 months and was still using a point and shoot camera. I’ve learned a lot about photography since those days. I’m still in no way a photography superstar but have I ever come a long way, baby. Have I ever?
I decided to reshoot the corn salad recipe. I used the same props, that is, the same table and serving dish. And I shot it outdoors like the original as well. I wanted as simple a picture as possible to see for myself what has changed about my photography. And to show off the recipe so so much better.
Here’s the comparison:
It’s crazy how different they are, isn’t it? What’s funnier to me is how proud I was of the shot on the left back then. But we all start somewhere. And I’m definitely proud of all that I’ve learned and managed to implement over the years. (Another funny thing, this will be especially funny to other bloggers, the picture on the left was named pool.jpg. I’m guessing because it was taken out by the pool?!? Clearly I’ve learned about more things than just photography!).
If you’re interested in seeing more pictures of this Corn Salad and/or of getting the recipe, I’ve loaded everything into the old blog post. You can find it here.
Have a great day!
P.S. Don’t even ask about the title in the URL of the old post. I have no idea what I was thinking!
