Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup farro
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or olive oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Measure the water into a large sauce pan. Cover and bring to a boil over high heat. Add the salt and stir.
  2. Add the farro, stir, and then bring it back to a boil. Reduce heat to a strong simmer and cook until softened, about 30 minutes.
  3. Pour the farro and water through a colander or sieve.
  4. Mix cooked farro with butter or olive oil, if using.
