Air Fryer Baby Potatoes

Air Fryer Baby Potatoes are so much faster than oven roasted — plus they won’t heat up your house!

Roasted potatoes are one of my staple side dishes. They go with practically everything, from a holiday roast to store-bought rotisserie chicken. We even eat them instead of french fries when we make burgers.

Everyone knows that air fryers are great for making healthier, less messy versions of our favorite fried foods. But they’re good for so much more than that, like taking care of your side dishes in no time.

How To Make Air Fryer Roasted Potatoes

I love using my air fryer to roast vegetables. Everything from broccoli florets to roasted potatoes comes out perfectly. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I bothered turning my oven on to make roasted vegetables!

The intense heat of the air fryer means your vegetables – in this case, potatoes – cook faster and get great little charred bits that are full of flavor. Plus it doesn’t heat up your house like the oven does, which is great in the summer heat.

To make these air fryer roasted potatoes, I toss potatoes in a little bit of olive oil and seasoning, then air fry them for 20 minutes at 375°F. They come out tender and creamy inside but slightly crispy on the edges, just like perfect roasted potatoes should be. (If you’re looking for potatoes that are the crispy all the way through, check out these air fryer home fries!)

I don’t typically bother preheating my air fryer, but for these potatoes I find that letting it heat up a few minutes while I prep everything else really helps the edges of the potatoes crisp up nicely.

The Best Potatoes For Roasting

I find that the best potatoes for roast are small baby potatoes. For this recipe, I used a mix of red potatoes and Yukon gold potatoes.

Their small size means they cook quickly, and I love how creamy they get. Since they’re already so small, all you need to do is cut them in half for perfect bite-sized potatoes.

How To Season Roast Potatoes

You can season these potatoes however you season your favorite oven roasted potato recipe. That can mean anything from simple salt and pepper to something bolder like Cajun seasoning.

I love seasoning mine with poultry seasoning and Kosher salt, plus a little bit of paprika for color and a hint of spice.
