Coffee Smoothie with Fresh Cherries

Welcome to my Coffee Smoothie with Fresh Cherries Recipe. Bursting with fresh fruit flavor and zinging with coffee, this smoothie is my favorite way to wake up. Any day.

Recipe for Coffee Smoothie with Fresh Cherries

Cherries and coffee go together like brown sugar and raisins, like potatoes and sour cream, like yogurt and honey. They just work.

When I’m in the mood for a coffee smoothie, which happens often seeing as how I require caffeine but live in Florida and thus crave things that keep me cool, I throw coffee and cherries into the blender with some other smoothie essentials and make myself a drink that delivers a flavor whallop and gets me jittery.

This coffee smoothie is a great summer afternoon pick-me-up that uses my favorite luscious seasonal fruit.

Oooo…I love orange and cream too. One of my favorite flavor combos. And you just reminded me that i have a milkshake recipe on my blog for an orange and cream milkshake that gets its orange from orange liqueur. It is a potently delicious treat. I’m definitely going to make another batch of them this weekend! Thanks for the reminder.

I love smoothies. Fresh fruit, spinach, kale and chia seeds. I also love frozen blended banana “ice cream” with PB chocolate sauce or berries.

Jessica, both of your frozen treats sound amazing. I’ve just recently started doing some healthy but fruity smoothies for the family and they are all loving them. I really don’t know why I didn’t start doing them sooner.

the pina colada smoothie sounds good

    • Christine Pittman — August 5, 2013 @ 10:19 am (#)

Shannon, I totally agree. How could anything pina colada flavored not be good?

Never thought coffee and cherries would go well together. Since I don’t drink coffee, I’ll have to try coffee icecream with cherries on top.

  11. Susi — July 27, 2013 @ 3:15 pm (#)

I love cherries but have never tried a cherry-coffee smoothie. It sounds good, especially in this heat. :)

I love a strawberry-banana-pineapple-coconut smoothie…blended with orange juice – so refreshing! Your coffee smoothie with fresh cherries recipe would be a big hit with my hubby! I’m not a big coffee fan (only because the caffeine doesn’t sit well with me) but would at least have to give it a try :-) Thanks for sharing!

  13. Joanne — July 26, 2013 @ 3:36 pm (#)

I now can’t believe I’ve NEVER paired coffee and cherries together! Even though I couldn’t live without either of them. This is seriously happening.

I’m not sure if the comment above is the same as commenting here. I’m so confused by the internet sometimes, it’s just sad. I’m all about blended margaritas as a treat. If I have to pick a non-alcoholic treat I’m going to go with a homemade frappuccino or blended coffee beverage. Nom.

  16. Rebecca {Foodie with Family} — July 26, 2013 @ 11:20 am (#)

Ooooh, I LIKE the sound of that. I could go for one right about now! I never thought of putting cherries and coffee together!
